The Nursery Learn About Poland and ‘Donut Day’!

The nursery have been talking about Poland and Polish traditions. We are representing Poland for the Diversity night. We learned how to spot the Polish flag and had a go at making one. We looked at where Poland is on a map after a pupil told us that his grandmother was coming from Poland that week to see him. We also looked into Donut day and decided that we should definitely give it a go! Miss Fraser whipped up some home made donut batter and the children made their own donuts as part of a healthy snack.

The Nursery Visit the National Gallery of Modern Art.

The nursery were recently invited by our neighbours in Pirniehall to come with them to the National Gallery of Modern Art, for a morning of outdoor arty workshops. We had a fantastic time creating ‘Goldsworthy’ style art work, looking at the outdoor installations and generally having fun outside. The children learned that art can come in many different forms and that anyone can create art whenever or wherever they like! Thank you, Mrs Lewis, for organising this fun trip.

Welcome Back Nursery Children and Parents!

Welcome back to a brand new year! This year we have made some changes to our routines, all changes have been made with your child’s best interests at the centre of the decision. We have slightly changed our gate opening times to allow the children more playing and learning time. We have also stopped our small group times which allows your child a longer uninterrupted play session. Thank you for adapting to our new times, we appreciate your support.

We are investigating colour

Emily noticed some of the children were experimenting with colour at our painting area. With the help of the children Emily developed this into an exploratory activity where the children could create artwork with mixing colours as the theme. Well done everyone, the pictures look fantastic. Emily went on to put up a display of the childrens work and photos of the activity.

Nursery Celebrate World Nursery Rhyme Week

The nursery children have been learning five nursery rhymes and can say them as well as doing all the actions! On Friday we had a nursery rhyme concert as part of our Stay And Play event. Mums and dads that could, stayed and listened to the children’s efforts. Well done everyone!
