Finance Week

During Finance Week in P2B we learnt all about long and short term savings goals.  We shared with the class why we thought some items would need a long or short time to be saved up for.  We all thought a bank account would be a good thing to have to help us save up.

Through the story Bunny Money we learnt all about spending money and completed listening and talking activities to aid our understanding .

We particularly enjoyed learning our new money song to help us identify the smaller coins :   Money Song for Children UK.

Which Dinner would you choose?

Using our enterprising and budgeting skills, we planned our own Christmas dinners. We had a budget to spend and set items to buy. We then turned our menu into Christmas adverts inspired by Marks and Spencer’s. We used WOW words to describe our food in our adverts and on our menus! We also had to track our spending in a way that worked for our group. We used many skills within this lesson and we were very pleased with the work we produced.

Library Visit and Scottish Cup

Primary 2A have had a very busy week and were lucky to visit the local Muirhouse Library on Monday afternoon. We learned all about the library and the wonderful service it is to our community.

On Wednesday we had a very special visitor……The Scottish Cup, the oldest competition cup in the world, most recent winner the mighty Hibernian F.C.

We learned all about the word “Persevere” and the importance of never giving up. A great message learned from Hibs long wait for the cup.
