Houses and Homes

As an extension of our IDL materials topic, Primary 1B have been learning all about houses and homes. Within this topic, pupils have had the opportunity to use various art utensils to create our classroom display. The children have used their knowledge of materials, 2D and 3D shape to create and design different homes.

Most recently we completed a local observation walk; marking the building and shapes that we spotted on our way. The information was then used to build profiles about our town.

The pictures below show some of our IDL and health and wellbeing activities. In this lesson the children explored the different ways to travel. We then worked collaboratively to create shapes with our bodies; linking to our IDL work.

Primary 1B will investigate different types of energy.

Primary 7 Retreat Day

On Tuesday 8th March, Primary 7 travelled to St Augustine’s RC to participate in a retreat day. We met with other Primary 7’s from St Joseph’s, Fox Covert RC, St Cuthbert’s and St Margaret’s and worked alongside them during three activities. The activities involved music, art and dance. It was a great way of getting to know other pupils who may be in our first year classes next year! The day finished with Mass lead by Monseignor Duffy and the art work that we created was included as part of the offertory.

Assembly

Primary 1 presented a beautiful assembly linked to the Year of Mercy. They were confident individuals in their delivery of information and songs. The sang beautifully and show cased their acting skills through various drama performances. Well done!!!

Mother’s day

Dear Mum’s, Dads, aunties, uncles and grandparents who managed to come to our Mother’s day concerts. Thank you all very much for making this such a special occasion. We all hope you had a good time too. Remember if you couldn’t make it today there will be other opportunities to see your child play, sing and have fun in our nursery.
