At our most recent Den we were learning about the features and uses of the app Puppet Pals. We learned how to use Puppet Pals to help us create imaginative stories. The children within the Den thought that they could use the app to help them write more imaginative stories and be more creative with characters and settings. We had lots of fun learning about this new app and we will share our learning with our class teacher and other pupils so we can use the app in class.

Diversity Night

As part of our Diversity Night preparations we have been learning about the country of Lithuania.

We had a visit from one of our Lithuanian parents who answered the many questions we had about the country and treated us to some delicious pastry treats.

Materials

Primary 1B have been investigating materials as part of our IDL learning. The photographs below show us creating the 3 different types of houses that the 3 Little Pigs built.

We have been investigating the different properties of materials and using the new vocabulary when sharing our learning with each other.

The children have thought about how they would design a toy car and we talked about why certain materials wouldn’t work.

Next we will be investigating natural and man made materials and their sources.

It’s great to see everyone back and ready to have a wonderful 2016!

Thank you for your cards, gifts and wishes at Christmas, you are too generous!

We have a busy few weeks ahead of us.

First we will be learning some Scottish songs/poems to celebrate Burns day on the 25th. Then we will be gearing up for our “Diversity”night on February 9th. The children will be learning all about The United States and how they celebrate Pancake Tuesday.

We also have Fairtrade Fortnight and Finance week coming up in the next month.
